Life Drawing With Miista

Having recently launched our first ever New York concept pop-up store, we hosted an intimate life drawing event, led by a local artist, Rachel Rossin.

Rossin’s practice draws similarities to Miista’s development process, through her on-going exploration with new technologies and combining unfamiliar mediums with the familiar. Our AW19 collection Loading… experiments with alternative techniques and high tech fabrics with sophisticated wearable designs.

Instead of a classic presentation, we wanted to create an event where people felt comfortable enough to metaphorically bare it all and to dedicate our time to meet with local creatives and industry experts.

Creativity is at the forefront of every design process at Miista, this goes hand in hand with collaboration and crafts(wo)manship. Having been inspired by our makers, who craft with their bare hands, we designed an immersive space to pay homage to a highly skilled community, that has been upholding cordwainer traditions since the 19th Century.

For the whole month of September, we will be presenting weekly events in the store space that feature local artists, musicians and craftswomen.

The concept store is meant to personalise the digital experience by making shoe shopping more convenient, helping you to find the right fit. The store will have the best styles from our AW19 collection to try on. You will be able to purchase them at the space and they will be sent to you for 48-hour delivery.

Our whole collection in the store will be curated by the Miista team itself and it will run from the 5th of September until the 6th of October. Opening times will be from 11am to 8pm. We will be offering pop-up customers a 15% discount and free shipping.
